A portrait (according to wikipedia) is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person. Although I have the ability to make portraits in a studio setting, I like to capture people in their natural environment, having a good time, sharing stories with friends, or working hard at their jobs. People are more relaxed in their own element and then they can show their true self thru a photograph.
