About Me

I am a walking contradiction, which is just another way of saying “I am weird”. I enjoy playing sports and being generally active but I also enjoy wandering around the Museum of Fine Arts, getting buzzed on good wine, and curling up with a good book. I have days where everything is planned and days where I throw caution to the wind. I love finding little out of the way places, be it for music or just a good place for conversation. I clown around and have a laid back personality but I take my work very seriously. Somehow, with all that, manages to fit into the many moods of my life; be it the joys of a wedding, the hustle of a family gathering, the moments with a young child or the jubilation of a winning game.

My photographs are reflections of my own interests, as an athlete, as an outdoor enthusiast and as a human being. When shooting sports, draw from the highs and lows of my own life, reflections of those similar feelings and emotion. One thing I have always enjoyed about sports is the stories they produce, the story for perseverance, the story of two best friends, and the story of sworn enemies. And you would be surprised at the similarities in shooting a wedding as compared to sports. There is the anticipation of action and the constant expression of joy through the day and there is that delicious cake too!

I think it has always been the story that drives me. Telling the tales of others and exploring a side that most people don't get to see. In my own life I like to take advantage of opportunities put before me, to create my own story. All that being said, I am a work in progress, I am constantly learning, about photography and about life. The majority of my photography skills are self taught, but since completing graduate school, I have been taking the opportunity to enhance my craft with workshops and classes.

My work has been published in the Massachusetts Daily Collegian, Inside Lacrosse, Western Mass Sports Journal, the Score and Bus Ride. My photos have been featured on numerous websites included USCHO, College Hockey News, UMassAthletics.com and the various department pages at University of Massachusetts. I have worked with numerous DI, DII and DIII colleges to provide top quality sports images for their respective athletic departments. I am a Southeastern Massachusetts based photographer but would be more than happy to travel for YOUR photography adventure.
